Understanding Abbeyfield Basildon
Our goal at Abbeyfield Basildon is to help our residents enjoy life to the full, free from the worries of running a household.
This means enabling and encouraging independence but also ensuring that help is given where it is needed. We want our residents to feel part of an extended family, loved and cared for, helped and supported.
Help and support is provided throughout the day from 9am to 6pm. We do not have live in staff but we have a 24 hour Care Line alarm service to ensure that assistance is provided out of hours.
Help and support comes in many practical ways. It also comes through the simple giving of time, stopping to have a chat and, most importantly, to listen to what our residents are saying. This is how we get to know our residents and make them part of the Abbeyfield family.

Our Activities
Keeping everyone entertained
At Abbeyfield, we understand that each of our residents will enjoy spending their time in different ways.
We have regular residents’ meetings and one of the reasons for these is to listen to what residents would like to do. This might be a trip out to a local pub for lunch or an afternoon panto or a singer coming to the House.
We always have summer and Christmas parties for residents and families with different entertainers coming in. We also arrange for lots of in-house activities, including baking, bingo and crafts. It is up to you to choose when and how you would like to join in.
